i have never been alone.

more of the never lived by myself, had a job where i just worked at and had no friends in the area.
i don't know how long i could stand. but think i would enjoy it to begin with. all your time on you. reading books. cooking food. watching movies. downloading porn. taking up knitting. it might be serene.
for awhile. i would definately miss the girlfriend, late night drunk talks or just community experience.
it might be an interesting thing to try for a couple months or so.
and yet there's that one spot on my back i just can't scratch myself...

bonafide rarity
when i was in seventh grade social studies, we were talking about canada--specifically prince edward island--and its exports. the teacher--mr. hanson--was trying to prompt a kid to say potatoes.
now, in 7th grade i was the kid if the teacher couldn't get another student to get the answer the teach would ask me. so the potato inquiry gets turned my way. and to be a smart ass i said "blue potatoes."
"what?" the class laughs
"blue potatoes"
"blue potatoes? there's no such thing as blue potatoes." more chuckles from the kids. i don't think anyone knows i am serious.
"yes i am. we grow them in our garden. i'll bring some in."
so i went home, asked mom for a couple blue potatoes. sliced them open so you could see they were guarantee. brought them in the next day and impressed the teach. he said later that he was amazed and they taste quite normal. i wanted to say, "i told you so." instead i warned him about using them for mashed potatoes, cuz they turned out more grey than blue.

so i get a letter in the mail today asking if i have checked my retirement account lately and if i have noticed the big deposit.
what retirement account?
oh, letter number 2. log in information and a web address.
i guess my work automatically enrolled me in a retirement plan. they deposit 15.4% of my gross pay yearly into an account. i don't even have to match it. they just toss it in.
not that this is going to make me want to work at tj's for life. but i'll have this job for at least another year (til i finish school), so i'm getting a little head start on my nest egg!
i'm just excited about having money invested. money that wasn't even mine to start with! haha!
